History meets high fashion in the mountains
In the central highlands of Mexico in the picturesque city of San Miguel de Allende, a lifestyle brand emerged. Recreo San Miguel weaves history and modernity, simplicity and elegance by reinterpreting the silhouette of the traditional serape — the iconic Latin American symbol of relaxed, comfortable and understated sophistication. Seedhouse had the unique opportunity to bring to life the luxury Recreo identity design.

Recreo recreates (“recreo”) these traditional forms, reinterpreting them in fine silks, cashmere, wool, linens and more.
Seedhouse had the absolute pleasure of helping define, design and express the Recreo brand identity and extend it across a number of different mediums. Everything from building exterior to sterling silver buttons to stonework to woven garment tags to wrought iron signage, and more.
The brand, its retail flagship location and the entire collection stun. Recreo has since been featured in Vogue, W, Elle, the New York Times, Esquire, and Architectural Digest.
Over the years, the brand’s range of styles has grown and the label now offers a wide assortment of layering pieces including capes, wraps, pashminas, tops, pants, jackets, kaftans and more.
“The original inspiration for Recreo San Miguel was the iconic Latin American serape; the versatility, roomy comfort and the enduring, timeless style of the serape are woven into the fabric of everything we do. As is the desire to honor Latin American traditions –including treating our artisans like family.” -Lisa & Michael Coleman
The brand’s multigenerational family founders are committed to responsible, thoughtful production and philanthropic community involvement.
